Rural Timekeeping: Transition to 3-Digit Hours Codes

In PP19/2024, all single-digit rural DACA (Days Assigned Carrier Absent) codes will be transitioned to the three-digit city hours code equivalent. Beginning with PP 19/2024 timekeeping (covering 8/24/2024 through 9/6/2024), all DACA days reported on rural timecards must be entered using three-digit hours codes as seen in Figure 1 below.

Existing business rules for single-digit DACA codes will also apply to the three-digit hours code equivalent. However, DACA code K and J have been combined into a single “Scheduled Relief Day” code 100.

When submitting rural hours adjustments through AdjustPay or EIWS Online Forms, complete adjustments relevant to pay period 18/2024 or earlier using single-digit DACA codes. Adjustments relevant to pay period 19/2024 or later must be completed using the three-digit hours codes.
