IMM Revision: IPA and ISAL Office of Exchange Code to Papua New Guinea

Effective October 17, 2024, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) Exhibit 292.45a and Exhibit 293.45a to reflect a change regarding the office of exchange code for Papua New Guinea from “BOR” to “POM” for International Priority Airmail® (IPA®) and International Surface Air Lift® (ISAL®) items sent to Papua New Guinea. This revision is based on current international transportation routing.

In order to provide mailers sufficient time to make necessary logistical and software changes, the Postal Service, through this Postal Bulletin article, is providing advance notice that mailers must begin using the code by January 19, 2025. Nonetheless, mailers are encouraged to immediately implement these changes in order to expedite delivery.
