Delivering Since 1775: U.S. Postal Service Celebrates 250 Years

The cover of this issue of the Postal Bulletin showcases the artwork of the Postal Service™ 250 Years of Delivering anniversary stamps, a pane of 20 that features a fun array of familiar postal items and icons that can be found while following a mail carrier on her rounds through the four seasons of the year.

The two-and-a-half-century milestone anniversary on July 26, 2025, is also being marked with the release of a 32-page prestige booklet, Putting a Stamp on the American Experience, celebrating the cultural importance of U.S. stamps. Highlighting the popular series and subjects that give the stamp program its range and depth, this booklet, only the fourth ever issued by the Postal Service, celebrates the enduring influence of stamps on the American shared heritage. Two self-adhesive sheets of a new intaglio printed stamp featuring Benjamin Franklin are available exclusively with the booklet.

Both 250 Years of Delivering and Putting a Stamp on the American Experience stamps were released on July 23, 2025. See the July 10, 2025, Postal Bulletin, Issue 22680, for an overview of the stamps (about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2025/pb22680/html/info_002.htm.)

On this special anniversary, USPS® honors its past while focusing on delivering now and into the future. With this in mind, a new symbol, Eagle in Flight, was created to use throughout the anniversary year. The face of the Eagle in Flight honors the Postal Service’s roots while amplifying the notion of delivering into the future through the wings. As the eagle takes flight, its wings show confidence and purpose, while vibrant red, white, and blue exude a spirit of celebration. The Eagle in Flight does not replace the corporate sonic eagle logo but is being used to help celebrate throughout 2025.
