Effective January 18, 2026, the Postal Service™ revised Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), section 609.1.4, to reflect a change in the Postal Service claims filing date for insured mail.
To realign the filing thresholds with other Postal Service mail service and bulk claims, the Postal Service is reestablishing the “No Sooner Than” filing period of 15 days (from the item’s mailing date) permitted for filing insured mail claims.
