Postal Service™ employees who conduct fleet support or building maintenance activities, handle hazardous or regulated waste, or have responsibilities for bulk storage tanks containing oil may be required to complete environmental compliance training.
Each Fiscal Year, specific maintenance and fleet positions are automatically assigned environmental compliance training in MyHR based on OCC code and associated job responsibilities.
Note: Employees may require additional training beyond the MyHR assigned training, depending on equipment, operations, site-specific permits or plans, and the site’s state or locality.
Installation heads must use the Environmental Training MATRIX at blue.usps.gov/sustainability/_pdf/env-training-matrix.pdf to determine the applicable requirements and identify employees who must complete training courses. It outlines mandatory training based on operations associated with employees’ roles and responsibilities. Topics in the Environmental Training matrix include the following:
n Universal Waste (Bulbs and Batteries) Management.
n Used Oil Management.
n Hazardous and Regulated Waste Management.
n Fleet Support Operations and Stormwater Permitting/No Exposure Certification/Stormwater Sampling.
n Bulk Oil or Chemical Storage (including Aboveground Storage Tanks).
n Bulk Fueling/Oil Storage in Underground Storage Tanks.
n Refrigerant Management Activities.
n Motor Vehicle Air Conditioner (MVAC) Servicing.
n Wastewater Pre-Treatment Systems.
n Environmental Compliance Requirements.
