Chief Solutions and Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President
Matthew Connelly was named chief solutions and strategy officer and executive vice president, in May 2026. He reports to the position of deputy postmaster general, chief operating officer and chief human resources officer.
In this role, Connelly maintains and expands service oversight and control by streamlining and enhancing network planning decision-making and execution, ensuring strong alignment across operational, sales and marketing stakeholders.
Before, Connelly served as a senior executive advisor to the Postmaster General and chief executive officer.
Connelly has been in the transportation and supply chain industry for 40 years, including a 32-year career at United Parcel Service (UPS) where he developed the network strategy and design for the U.S. transportation network. He oversaw the network transformation at UPS that accelerated time in transit and increased facilities automation. He was integral in executing UPS’ acquisition strategy for expanded global growth and was responsible for sourcing the purchased transportation needs for UPS and integrating acquisitions.
After retiring from UPS, Connelly served as the CEO of Good360 from 2019 to 2022. During his tenure, Good360 experienced exponential growth by building a reverse logistics network to support strategic partnerships with Amazon, Walmart, Nike and others.
Connelly holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northeastern University and completed the Managerial Leadership Program from the Emory University Goizueta Business School.
