Vice President, Retail and Delivery Operations–Southern Area
Linda Crawford was named vice president, Retail and Delivery Operations, Southern Area, in November 2023, a role she acted in since April. She reports to the chief retail and delivery officer and executive vice president.
Crawford is responsible for overseeing retail and delivery operations in 13 districts comprised of 11 states, as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, and a workforce of over 124,000 employees. The Southern Area services 49.3 million delivery points from more than 7,000 Post Offices, encompasses 750,000 square miles, and produces $3.2 billion total revenue annually.
Before, Crawford served as district manager for the Santa Ana, California, district, in which she was responsible for over 9,600 employees serving more than 2.1 million homes and businesses over 1,260 square miles.
Crawford began her career with the Postal Service in 1989 as a city carrier. Since then, she has served in many leadership roles, including postmaster, San Diego; postmaster, Sacramento; and manager of delivery programs support for the Western-Pacific Area. She also helped create and implement Management Essentials for Field Leadership, an 8-week program to help newly promoted field managers improve their performance and managerial skills.
Crawford has a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. She has completed the Postal Service’s Executive Foundations, Executive Leadership and Processing and Distribution Management programs. She is Lean Six Sigma green belt certified and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
