A USPS careers account offers the ability to opt in to receive notifications about updates to active job applications via SMS (text message). This functionality is optional and is not a required step for any job application.
By opting in to SMS notifications for receiving updates about your job application, you agree to receive text messages regarding the status of your application. You may opt in or out of these notifications at any time by logging into your USPS careers account and adjusting your SMS notification preference located under “My Profile.” Standard carrier messaging and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary. By opting in to receive SMS notifications, you agree that United States Postal Service is not responsible for any charges incurred as a result of any SMS messages you send or receive. We reserve the right to modify or terminate this service at any time without prior notice. Your privacy is important to us, and your contact information will only be used for communication related to your job application.
Upon creating a USPS careers account, you will be given the option to select whether or not you would like to opt in to receive Text Message (SMS) notifications. Selecting the “Yes” option will allow you to provide the mobile phone number to which you would like to receive the notifications. Note that by opting in, you will receive text notifications for all jobs you apply for until you opt out. The setting to opt in or opt out will always be available from the “My Profile” page when you are signed in. This setting can be changed at any time.
You are able to change your preference for receiving text message (SMS) notification at any time simply by signing in to your USPS careers account and navigating to the “My Profile” page. The setting is located under the “Text Message Notifications” section. To opt out or change your preference, click the “Edit” button, then select the option “No/opt out” where you are asked whether you would like to opt in to receive text message (SMS) notifications.
The text message notification feature is an automated service for USPS careers account members, intended ONLY to notify you about updates to your job applications or your account. The SMS number from which you receive any text messages will not respond to any text messages and is not intended for receiving commands. It is not monitored for incoming messages and will not act upon any requests that may be sent to this number.
