USPS Restores Mail Delivery, Retail Operations At Georgiana, AL Post Office

Alabama --- The Alabama District urges customers interested in information about a specific Post Office to call 800-ASK-USPS (275-8777). Operators have been provided specific information on delivery and retail services for each office impacted by Hurricane Sally.

Customers also are reminded that the Postal Service’s website, usps.com, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, usps.com features a Service Alerts page that provides up-to-date information on mail restoration programs, impacted delivery areas, and the latest postal and mailer news at http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Sally, please be sure that your residential mailbox is clearly visible and is debris-free so that your carrier has access to deliver your mail. If your mailbox is badly damaged or destroyed, please provide a secure receptacle, with your address clearly displayed for your letter carrier to leave your mail at your residence. Mail cannot be delivered unless a receptacle is provided.

If your residence is uninhabitable, please complete a Change of Address (COA) card to facilitate the delivery of your mail to a valid address. A temporary change of address is designed for customers who plan on returning to their residence within six months. If you are NOT planning to return to your current address, please submit a permanent COA request. A COA card is available from your letter carrier or at your local Post Office. COA requests also may be filed at usps.com, the Postal Service’s website that is available to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Postal employees are making every effort to provide uninterrupted service to all of our customers in the ZIP Code 364, 365, and 366 delivery areas.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
