Postal Service Hiring Seasonal Workers

WASHINGTON – The Postal Service will be hiring for seasonal positions in the Washington, DC, area. The jobs will be posted during the dates listed below at usps.com/careers. Applications can be made at the same online site.

The positions include:

Holiday Clerk Assistant (HCA) – $17.19/hour (Supports mail deliveries)
Entrance exam not required. Interviews are required.
Posting dates are Aug. 26, 2019 through Sept. 2, 2019.

Postal Support Employee (PSE) - $17.19/hour (Sorts mail at processing plants)
Entrance exam required. No interviews required. Positions available at processing plants only. Posting dates are Sept. 13-19, 2019.

Casual Mail Handler (CEP) - $15.00/hour (Prepares, moves, and sorts mail)
Entrance exam required. No interviews required. Positions available at processing plants only.
Posting dates are Sept. 20-26, 2019.

All positions will be limited and applicants may apply for as many as they choose.  Once the positions are filled, USPS will no longer process applications.

These positions will last through the holiday season, ending in January 2020. Postal Support Employees will be placed on a list that could possibly lead to reemployment into a 360-day term position. 

Check the website usps.com/careers for job postings. Each job posting will only be open for five days. Applicants are eligible to apply for any positions except Annuitant positions which are reserved for retired postal workers.

USPS does not require an application fee.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
