Mail Pick-Up Location Changing for Impacted Postal Customers in Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel

  • All customers impacted by Hurricane Ian should immediately take the critical initial step of filing for a Change of Address (COA) with the Postal Service, to ensure they can receive uninterrupted and accurate mail delivery service.
  • The USPS Care Center (1-800-275-8777) is available for customers in areas affected by Hurricane Ian with questions about their mail or package delivery service, or any other matter involving postal operations.

FORT MYERS, FL — Effective Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, postal customers in Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel who were affected by Hurricane Ian are being directed to a new location for mail and package pick-up.

The new location offers more space and ample parking. For customers arriving by car, there is signage directing them where to park.   

A Mobile Retail Unit has been set up in the parking lot to assist customers with mailing and shipping needs, stamp and money order purchases and Change of Address requests. Hours: Monday – Saturday 9 AM – 4:30 PM ET, closed Sunday.

Change of Address (COA):

All customers impacted by Hurricane Ian should immediately take the critical initial step of filing for a Change of Address (COA) with the Postal Service, to ensure they can receive uninterrupted and accurate mail delivery service. Here are options for customers:

Customers who will not be able to occupy their home within 30 days should submit a temporary Change of Address (COA) request with the Postal Service. Be sure to mark “Temporary” on the card/online form. A temporary change of address is designed for customers who plan on returning to their residence within six months.

Customers who are not planning to return to their current address should submit a permanent COA request. 

Customers can request a COA form from their letter carrier or visit their nearest available Post Office. COA requests can also be filed online at: https://moversguide.usps.com.
