Need Updated Post Office Information? Call 1-800-ASK-USPS

GEORGIA --- The U.S. Postal Service urges customers in Georgia that are interested in information about a specific Post Office to call 1-800-ASK-USPS (1-800-275-8777). Operators have been provided specific information on delivery and retail services for each office impacted by Hurricane Helene.

Customers also are reminded that the Postal Service’s website, usps.com, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, usps.com features a Service Alerts page  providing up-to-date information on mail restoration programs, impacted delivery areas, and the latest postal and mailer news at http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, please be sure your residential mailbox is clearly visible and is debris-free so your carrier has access to deliver your mail. If your mailbox is badly damaged or destroyed, please provide a secure receptacle, with your address clearly displayed, for your letter carrier to leave your mail at your residence. Mail cannot be delivered unless a receptacle is provided.

If your residence is uninhabitable, please complete a Change of Address (COA) card to facilitate the delivery of your mail to a valid address. A temporary change of address is designed for customers who plan on returning to their residence within six months. If you are NOT planning to return to your current address, please submit a permanent COA request. COA requests may be filed at usps.com, the Postal Service’s website that is available to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A COA card is also available at your local Post Office, appropriate identification is needed upon submission of the COA card at your local post office in person.

Postal employees are making every effort to provide uninterrupted service to all of our customers in the Georgia area.
