The Postal Service is Working Quickly to Restore Services in the Lake Charles area after Hurricane Laura

LAKE CHARLES, LA — The Postal Service is in active recovery mode, following Hurricane Laura. We are making every effort to provide service as soon as possible to all of our customers in the areas affected by the storm, wherever we can ensure the safety of our customers and employees. We sincerely appreciate our customers’ understanding and cooperation as we recover from the storm.

Effective Wednesday, September 9, 2020:

All Retail and P.O. Box operations at the following Post Office are resuming, effective Wednesday, September 9, 2020. Service will be provided via temporary trailers located in front of the facility during the days and hours shown below:

Lake Charles Drew Station
5000 Lake St
Lake Charles, LA 70605
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Closed Sunday

Service for the Lake Charles Drew Station had been temporarily provided at the Lake Charles Main Post Office. Customers no longer need to travel to the Main office to receive service.

 Retail, P.O. Box and Delivery operations at the following Post Office are temporarily suspended:

Elizabeth, LA 70638

All operations for the Elizabeth Post Office have been moved to the following alternate location:

Pitkin Post Office

Pitkin, LA 70656
Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.; Saturday/Sunday Closed
