NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials have suspended service at postal locations in Manhattan, the Bronx and Long Island.
Mail delivery and postal retail locations will be temporarily suspended on February 1, 2021 due to dangerous weather conditions throughout the region.
Normal postal operations are expected to resume as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
Questions about mail delivery can be answered by the Postal Service Customer Care Center at 1-800-ASK-USPS (275-8777) or by visiting USPS.com and viewing service alerts.
Information regarding delivery and retail services in the affected area can be found at http://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/welcome.htm.
Employees are encouraged to call into the Postal Service’s emergency number to receive updates and confirm the status of reporting to work.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
