USPS in the Houston area will host a special hiring event for Maintenance Mechanic positions on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri City Post Office, located at 1902 Texas Parkway, Missouri City, TX, 77459. Maintenance mechanics perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on various types of mail processing, buildings and building equipment, customer service, and delivery equipment

The Postal Service in Houston has an immediate need for the following jobs to be filled:

• Laborer Custodial (LC PS-04)
• Maintenance Mechanic (MM PS-07)
• Maintenance Mechanic Mail Processing Equipment (MPE PS-09)
• Building Equipment Mechanic (BEM PS-09)
• Area Maintenance Technician (AMT PS-09)
• Electronic Technician (ET PS-10)

Application Requirements:  Applicants must be 18 years or older. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. All mechanic positions have exam requirements and are career positions that offer excellent benefits. Citizenship or permanent resident status is required. 

Applicants must successfully complete Postal Service Test 955 for the mechanic positions, which measures maintenance knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Postal officials will be onsite to answer questions and will also have assessment packages with sample test questions available during the event.
