Beginning July 12, 2024, the standard approval process for requisitions with values between $0.01 and $250 in eBuyPlus will change. Currently, the standard approval process for all requisitions is budget reviewer, manager, and finance number custodian. A new simplified approval chain will be implemented for all orders starting at $0.01 through $250 and will require only one approver — the manager.
This decision was made through much research, analysis, and field poling. It was determined that nearly 70 percent of all orders fall in the $250 or below threshold and take more than 3 days to approve. The goal of this new approval change is to create a more efficient process by reducing the number of approvers for smaller dollar requisitions and get needed items or services in the hands of requisitioners faster.
Note: This change is for both on and off catalog items. If your items or requisitions total more than $250, nothing will change in your approval process. The new approval chain will be activated automatically, with no changes required by system users.
To recap the changes of requisitions between $0.01 and $250:
n Approval Process today: budget reviewer, manager, and finance number custodian approve.
n Approval process on July 12 and forward: Manager approves.
This will NOT affect utility or EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) invoice approval, as those only require manager approval.
This new approval change is effective Friday, July 12 at 5:00 p.m. est.
