IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Panama

Effective August 7, 2025, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Panama in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to add observations for the following updates:

n Including specific addressee contact information for items mailed to Panama.

n Using the proper address format for items sent to a post office box.

n Using the proper address format for items sent via general delivery.

These revisions are based on a formal request that Correos Panama (the designated postal operator of Panama) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 94, dated June 16, 2025.

[Add three additional entries to read as follows (adding “1” before the first entry):]

2. On each Priority Mail Express International item and each item containing goods, Correos Panama (the designated postal operator of Panama) requests that the mailer provide, if available, the sender and addressee’s fixed or mobile phone numbers and email address on the customs declaration form or address label.

3. When sending items to Panama with post office box addresses, include the post office code followed by the post office box number (e.g., 0819-00001).

4. When sending items to Panama without a post office box number, use the phrase “general delivery” and provide the correct post office code.
