Effective November 3, 2025, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), section 703.3.2.3, to reflect an update in the maximum dimensions allowed for items mailed to U.S. Department of State (DPO) destinations.
The U.S. Department of State has updated restrictions for all DPO locations that restrict the dispatch of items that do not fit in a purple U.S. military sack or bag. Mail of all classes to DPO locations must not exceed the following dimensions:
n Length: 27 inches.
n Width: 14 inches.
n Height: 14 inches.
Although this revision will not be published in the DMM until November 3, 2025, these standards are effective immediately.
