Effective December 25, 2025, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Iraq in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to update the list of prohibited items to remove the entries for “electronic items of all kinds” and “lithium batteries.”
This revision is based on a formal request that Iraq Post and Savings Public Company (the designated postal operator of Iraq) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular (IBC) 175, dated November 10, 2025. This change reverses the prohibitions established by IBC 105, dated July 7, 2025, and published in the Postal Bulletin (PB 22687), on October 16, 2025.
