CyberSafe at USPS — Keep the Network Safe

Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) began this October, and its importance has grown immensely since it started in 2004.

CSAM, co-led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and National Cybersecurity Alliance, is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise cybersecurity awareness worldwide.

The Corporate Information Security Office (CISO) supports CSAM by helping employees and contractors become more familiar with the Postal Service’s efforts to create a culture. We accomplish this by highlighting CyberSafe at USPS® resources with the theme of Do what it takes — Stay CyberSafe.

From engaging online activities to informative videos, CyberSafe at USPS is a vital resource in distributing cybersecurity best practices. Here is a list of a few of the exciting programs the CyberSafe page (blue.usps.gov/cyber) has to offer:

n Monthly awareness campaigns showcase materials — posters, articles, Smart Cybersecurity Moments, talking points, and FAQs — and other resources providing cybersecurity best practices for both work and home.

n CyberSafe Guardians resource hub at link.usps.com/2022/01/14/join-the-team is for the volunteers who share cybersecurity awareness best practices with their networks.

n Virtual awareness activities provide engaging online activities to test your awareness skills and prepackaged templates that can be adapted for teams to help instill best practices and USPS policy awareness.

n Incident reporting promotes the USPS phishing initiative “Report to CyberSafe” and provides steps to take if you think you’ve been a target.

n Training provides cybersecurity courses for CISO Academy and CyberSafe.

n CyberSafe Studio is a collection of short and entertaining videos that puts cyberthreats into real-life scenarios and shows the impact of making wrong decisions.

n Posters for the office is a collection of CyberSafe materials to display in work areas to help spread cybersecurity awareness across USPS.

The CyberSafe team will update the site with additional materials related to CSAM throughout October at blue.usps.gov/cyber/awareness-fair.htm.
