Quarterly Chief FOIA Officer’s Award Recipients

As President Barack Obama wrote in his Jan. 21, 2009, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) memorandum, “[a] democracy requires accountability, and accountability requires transparency.” He asked that Federal employees respond to FOIA requests “promptly and in a spirit of cooperation.” The Postal Service recognizes postal employees who have gone beyond the basic duty of ensuring the Postal Service meets its statutory obligations under the FOIA “promptly and in a spirit of cooperation.”
