USPS Expands Partnership with How2Recycle

The United States Postal Service® (USPS®) is in its fifth year of partnership with How2Recycle®. This consumer-oriented package labeling system uses Federal Trade Commission guidance to encourage more customers to recycle Priority Mail® boxes and other packaging products.

USPS has made great strides in identifying products that can include a How2Recycle label. As our organization depletes existing inventory and produces new stock, How2Recycle labels are now prominently featured on more of these items.

How2Recycle labels provide customers with precise instructions that make recycling easier, such as how to prepare for recycling, the type of recyclable material (e.g., plastic or paper), and the packaging format (e.g., bottles and boxes). Cereal boxes, soup cans, and other pantry items often carry How2Recycle guidance.

In addition to Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express®, and ReadyPost® packaging, USPS has expanded How2Recycle guidance to postcards, posters, and other types of printed paper products. USPS is proud to work with How2Recycle to promote a more sustainable organization, while providing easier recycling instructions to our customers.
