Historic 150 year-old operation still connects community
What:
A customer appreciation day at the local Florence, AZ, Post Office. This will also be a chance to meet the new Postmaster and take a look at how operations run.
Refreshments will be served.
Who:
All members of the community. Members of the media are also invited to interview the Postmaster, Samantha Lamb.

Background:
The first Postmaster of Florence, AZ, Thomas Ewing, took the official oath of office on August 19, 1869. Since that time, the United States Postal Service has served the town of Florence for a 150-year uninterrupted run. The local Post Office lies at the economic and communication crossroads for the community.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
