A Priority for Service: USPS Greater NorCal PCC Partners with Operation: Care and Comfort

Volunteers will pack over 250 Priority mail care packages to deployed troops in honor of Veterans Day

What:

Thousands of men and women in our nation’s military are serving abroad during the holidays. The mail is an important way to stay connected with them. The Greater NorCal PCC invites you to a packing party at Operation: Care and Comfort.

Get a behind-the-scenes look at how care packages are assembled.
Learn how to properly address and pack a care package.

Watch as Priority Mail boxes are loaded onto the truck destined for the San Jose Processing Center.

Background:

Founded in San Jose in 2003, Operation: Care and Comfort (OCC) is celebrating 20 years of service to the military, veterans and their dependents. A 100% all-volunteer organization, OCC’s three award winning programs support military personnel overseas, as well as here “at home.” OCC is proud to use the United States Postal Service for the OCC Care Package program.

Created in 1961, Postal Customer Councils (PCC) are local organizations that help foster a close working relationship between USPS and commercial mailers with the goal of sharing information about postal products, programs, and services through an educational and collaborative environment.

PCC events recognize the importance of supporting small businesses.

To help with the timely delivery of holiday wishes by December 25, cards and packages to military addresses overseas should be sent no later than Dec. 9.

  • December 15- Priority Mail Express Military Service
  • December 16-USPS Ground Advantage
  • December 16– Domestic First-Class Cards and Letters
  • December 18 – Domestic Priority Mail
  • December 20 – Domestic Priority Express Mail
