Blue Mesa Bridge Closure Has Rerouted Mail for Cimarron

Cimarron’s Mail routed through Grand Junction

Blue Mesa Bridge Closure

CIMARRON – Mail destined for Cimarron comes from Colorado Springs via US Hwy 50. With the bridge closure, mail is being rerouted through Grand Junction, Montrose, and then to Cimarron. Transportation is now in place and mail should be arriving daily.

There is a small community on the banks of Blue Mesa Reservoir called Sapinero. There are about 70 customers that we deliver to from the Gunnison Post Office. We have not been able to service those customers since the bridge closure. USPS is working with CDOT to allow documented delivery personnel to access this community. We are hopeful that CDOT will be able to safely allow our carrier to use the bridge soon.

We are eager to return regular service to this community and appreciate the patience of our customers as we work through the logistics of this situation.
