Public invited to attend ceremony
ASHLAND, KY – Angela Layne will take the Oath of Office on Friday, Mar. 13, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to become the 11th Postmaster of Ashland, KY. The ceremony will take place at the Ashland Post Office, located at 1140 Carter Ave.
“I look forward to serving this wonderful community and our postal customers, both residential and business,” said Layne. The Ashland Post Office services nearly 25,000 delivery points with 23 city routes and eight rural routes. Layne will oversee a workforce of approximately 70 employees.
Layne began her postal career in 2000 as a clerk in Ashland, KY. She has served as Postmaster in Worthington, Sandy Hook, South Shore, and most recently, Olive Hill. She and her husband, Jerry, have four children - Elissa Layne Selby (Evan), Jaeden, Haven, and Tanner.
A meet-and-greet reception will immediately follow the ceremony, along with a Grow Your Business Expo for local businesses. The Expo will provide opportunities for businesses to work with a USPS Business specialist, a mailpiece designer, and local printing companies to explain advertising mail options.
