1-800-ASK-USPS (275-8777)
GREENSBORO, NC – The North Carolina District Office of the U.S. Postal Service urges customers interested in information about a specific Post Office to call 1-800 ASK-USPS (275-8777) if they are unable to reach their local Post Office. Operators have been provided specific information regarding delivery and retail services for each office in the area affected by Hurricane Helene.
Postal service employees are making every effort to provide service to our customers where it is reasonably safe to do so and where roads are passable.
In order to assure mail delivery to your affected area, please observe the following:
- Be sure no debris blocks access to your mailbox.
- If your mailbox is badly damaged or destroyed please provide a secure receptacle, with your address clearly displayed, in order for your letter carrier to leave your mail at your residence. Mail cannot be delivered unless a receptacle is provided.
- If your residence is uninhabitable, please complete a Change of Address card to facilitate the delivery of your mail to a valid temporary address.
- Change of Address cards are available from your letter carrier or at your local Post Office. In addition, change of address information can be filed on the Postal Service website at www.usps.com.
