Mail at NDC being inspected for customers’ safety

PITTSBURGH — United States Postal Service officials today announced they continue to make progress towards reopening the Pittsburgh Network Distribution Center (NDC) and retail office, located in Warrendale, PA, following a temporary closure due to trace leakage of an improperly mailed package containing mercury.

For customers who are awaiting parcel delivery through the Pittsburgh NDC, Postal Service officials apologize to those who may be experiencing temporary service delays. USPS is working closely with environmental contractors to make sure parcels are safe before they can be delivered. Again, safety for our customers and our employees is paramount in this effort.

We appreciate the patience and understanding of our valued customers, suppliers and mailing partners.

The Postal Service’s goal is to deliver the nation’s mail securely, accurately and efficiently every day. Each customer’s concern is very important to us and we ask these concerns be brought to our attention directly at 1-800-ASK-USPS, which is our consumer affairs number.
