KRAKOW, WI – The Postal Service held a rededication ceremony at the Krakow Post Office on August 8, 2023, in honor of former Postmaster Romuald "Bud" Brzezinski.
Brzezinski, who was a lifelong resident of Krakow, WI, had a distinguished career with the U.S. Postal Service, and was not only recognized as the longest serving postmaster at the Post Office in Krakow, but was also recognized as Wisconsin's longest actively serving postmaster during the state's sesquicentennial celebration in 1998. Brzezinski ultimately retired in 1999 after 46 years with the U.S. Postal Service.
Speakers included Congressman Mike Gallagher, USPS Wisconsin District Manager Jeff Drake and family member Michael Poradek.
On September 22, 2022, then Congressman Mike Gallagher introduced House Resolution 8959. Unanimous support from a state’s congressional delegation is required for the movement of naming bills to the floor of the House and Senate and is then signed by the President of the United States to become law.
The Postal Service worked with the office of Congressman Mike Gallagher to host the event.
