Effective September 21, 2023, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Oman in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to add an observation regarding certain addressee contact information for items bearing a customs declaration form mailed to Oman.
This revision is based on a formal request that Oman Post (the designated postal operator of Oman) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 44, dated March 13, 2023.

[Add a new entry to read as follows (adding “1” before the first entry):]
2. Display on the customs declaration form the addressee’s telephone number (mobile number preferred). This contact number assists Oman Post (the designated postal operator of Oman) in notifying the addressee when the item has arrived. If an item does not contain the addressee’s correct contact number, Oman Post will deliver it to the delivery branch, and if the item is not collected within 30 days, Oman Post will return it to the country of origin.
