Vice President, Regional Processing Operations Western
Larry Munoz was named Vice President, Regional Processing Operations for the Western Area in August 2020. He is the senior postal official in an area that encompasses six regions from the Great Lakes to Alaska all the way to Hawaii and Pacific Island territories. These regions include: Westshore, Mid-South, Midwest, Southwest, Pacific Northwest, and Southern California.
Munoz oversees 146 processing facilities and more than 56,000 employees who transport and process nearly 350 million letters and packages each day. He reports to the Chief Logistics and Processing Operations Officer and Executive Vice President.
Previously, Munoz served as Vice President of Pacific Area which included California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, Saipan, and Rota. He managed 25 processing facilities and over 2000 delivery and retail units which employed more than 67,000 employees who processed and delivered mail to 17 million delivery points.
During his career, he has achieved exceptional performance through motivation and employee engagement. He’s an effective leader who continues to drive success through integrity, collaboration, and innovation.
Since joining the Postal Service in 1986 as a distribution clerk in Van Nuys, CA, Munoz has served as Manager, Los Angeles NDC, Senior Plant Manager in Nevada-Sierra, Los Angeles and Sierra Coastal Districts and Manager Operations Support for the Pacific Area. He also served as District Manager in the San Diego, Santa Ana, and Sierra Coastal Districts.
He has completed the Senior Executive Assessment and Development Training and is Lean Six Sigma Executive Green Belt Certified and Black Belt trained.
