Hadley Post Office Unveils Holiday Postmark

Hadley Post Office special pictorial postmark

HADLEY, MA — The holidays are in full swing at the Hadley Post Office where a special pictorial postmark has been created for the second consecutive year.

The postmark, created by Amherst resident Walter “Doug” George, features Santa and his sleigh flying over the Hadley Post Office.

“My idea for this year’s pictorial postmark from our local post office was to add holiday cheer,” George said. “The postmark gives people an opportunity to make their holiday cards more fancy, original and festive.” George also created a holiday pictorial postmark for 2021.

The cancellation may be obtained via mail by affixing postage to an envelope or postcard, addressing the envelope or postcard for mailing, and placing the envelope or postcard in a larger cover envelope. Mail requests to:

Hadley, MA Station
Postmaster
186 Russell Street
Hadley, MA 01035-0035

More information on how to obtain the Hadley pictorial postmark is available online in the Postal Bulletin.

“Last year we received requests for the postmark from across the country,” said Carol Caines, former Hadley postmaster and the sponsor for the 2021 and 2022 Hadley holiday pictorial postmarks. “We are excited to continue this holiday tradition for a second year.”
