Post Office welcomes customers back in South Minneapolis

The Postal Service is excited to announce the opening of a full-service facility in South Minneapolis. This location will be the temporary home of both the Minnehaha and Lake Street Post Offices and will begin serving customers on November 16, 2020.

10 W Lake Street, Suite 102, Minneapolis, MN 55408

This announcement follows the closing of these facilities after they sustained unrepairable damages in late May.

“I am very happy to be bringing Postal Services back the South Minneapolis community” said Postmaster William Jones. “Our employees are equally excited to occupy this location which is closer to their routes and customers.”

Customers should expect all PO Boxes that originate from the Lake Street and Minnehaha locations to be on site at this facility starting on November 16, 2020. We ask that customers see a window clerk with a photo ID to claim their keys.

Any mail being held at the Post Office for Lake Street and Minnehaha customers will also be transferred to this location. There will also be a full retail available for all customer shipping and mailing needs.

Postal Retail Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:30 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
Saturday: 9:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.

The Postal Service is still exploring more permanent options for long-term facilities in the Minnehaha and Lake Street facilities.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
