IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Belgium

Effective February 22, 2024, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Belgium in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to note that the prohibition of arms and weapons also includes parts and accessories thereof and ammunition.

This revision is based on a formal request that bpost (the designated operator of Belgium) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 16, dated January 22, 2024.

Arms and weapons, including parts and accessories thereof. Such items include both prohibited and controlled arms (subject to a license), over-the-counter weapons and their accessories, and ammunition. The relevant Harmonized System (HS) code range is 930100 to 930700. The designated postal operator of Belgium (bpost) will consider a postal item containing such items as wrongly admitted and will treat them in accordance with Belgium’s national legislation.
