IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Japan

Effective February 22, 2024, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Japan in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to request that each item addressed to Japan include the correct postal code on the address label, and when applicable, also on the customs form.

This revision is based on a formal submission that Japan Post (the designated postal operator of Japan) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 190, dated November 27, 2023, and subsequent email correspondence dated December 25, 2023.
