LA QUINTA – Janet Mixon was recently named the Postmaster of the La Quinta Post Office.

She replaces former La Quinta Postmaster Claudia Robledo, who moved on to another postal facility.

As La Quinta Postmaster, Mixon supervises 92 employees and oversees retail services at the La Quinta Main and Cove Post Offices and the daily distribution of mail on 49 La Quinta and North Indio delivery routes and to more than 3,600 PO Boxes at the two facilities.

Mixon is a 17-year postal employee who began her career as a clerk and most recently served as the postmaster of the Coachella Post Office.

I’m excited and thankful to have been selected for this great opportunity,” said Mixon. “I hope to continue the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in the biggest cities or smaller communities such as La Quinta and North Indio.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported me throughout my career, and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

Mixon was born and raised in San Francisco and currently resides in Indio. She is a graduate of Balboa High School.

Mixon’s hobbies include spending time with her family--especially her grandchildren--and shopping.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
