USPS to host a Virtual Career Fair for hiring in the Detroit area

DETROIT, MI — If you’re looking for a job with the Postal Service, you’ll be interested to know that USPS is hosting a Virtual Career Fair for positions available in the Detroit area.

Friday, May 14, 2021, 10 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

A Human Resources Specialist will demonstrate how to apply for a job with USPS. You will learn about vacancies in the Southeast Michigan area.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Postal Service has immediate openings for City Carrier Assistant (CCA). Positions start at $18.01 per hour.

To be considered for the positions, applicants must qualify on the assessment test, performance test, and have a current driving license with a minimum of 2 years good driving record.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or High School graduate.
  • Must be US Citizen or have permanent resident alien status.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test and pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Must reside within daily commuting distance of the position.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
