Local Postal Leader to be formally installed in a ceremony on October 4

Background:

On Wednesday, October 4th, in his 26th year as a postal employee, Ron Morris will be sworn in as the 37th Postmaster of the City of Detroit.

Morris began his postal career in Pontiac, MI as a Part Time Flexible Clerk. Prior to his official appointment as Postmaster, Morris has served as Officer-In-Charge for the City of Detroit since July, 2022. Morris has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility including Supervisor, Customer Services: Manager, Customer Services, Northwest Carrier Station and Southwest Station; Postmaster, Rochester, Pontiac and Sterling Heights; and Manager, Post Office Operations.

Morris held executive positions including Plant Manager, Detroit Processing and Distribution Center; and Senior Plant Manager, Michigan Metroplex.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be the Postmaster of this great community,” said Morris. “My goal is to continue providing excellent service as the Postal Service enters the third year of the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-year plan.
