Postal Service plans relocation of North Hills Post Office

RALEIGH, NC — The U.S. Postal Service will relocate the North Hills Post Office to a yet-to-be-determined location as close as reasonably possible to the former site. The Postal Service has decided to proceed with the relocation because the current landlord has not renewed the postal lease, and the property is being redeveloped.

This project will allow the Postal Service to maintain retail operations for our customers in the Raleigh North Hills market for the long term. We are in the process of searching for a new facility that will allow the Postal Service to offer the fully continuity of services while remaining convenient for customers. The Postal Service does not anticipate any impact to mail delivery to local residents and businesses.

Additionally, the Postal Service plans to provide services at the temporary postal facility located at 2415 Atlantic Ave., Raleigh, NC 27609, until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.

“The Postal Service greatly appreciates the input and support it received from the community as part of the relocation process,” said Richard Hancock, Real Estate Specialist for the Postal Service. “We look forward to selecting a new location will allow us to continue to offer great service to our customers.”

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
