STAR, NC – The Star Post Office welcomes submissions for its annual holiday postmark contest.

This year is the 36^th consecutive holiday season that the annual pictorial cancellation contest is being offered.

“The annual postmark contest combined with the spirit of the holiday season makes this the most wonderful time of year for us,” said Star Postmaster Angela Johnson. “The Post Office employees always look forward to the artist submissions.

Last year, more than 25,000 cards and letters were cancelled with the Peace, Dove and Tree scene drawn by Carla Ward.

One design will be chosen for this year’s cancellation. The requirements are:

• The design must be no larger than 4 inches wide and 2 inches in height.
• The words “Star Station” Dec. __ 2022 Star, NC 27356 must be on the drawing. (Leave room for a date change after Dec. and before 2022.)
• Send your design, no later than September 24, 2022 to:
