Norfolk Post Office Evacuated Due to Threatening Flood Waters

HyVee Contract Post Office Open at 2107 Taylor Ave.

NORFOLK, NE — Threatened by floodwaters, the Norfolk, NE, Post Office at 1100 S. Pine Industrial Road will be temporarily evacuated and mail delivery operations in Norfolk temporarily suspended until further notice.

We apologize for any inconvenience to our customers and will reopen as soon as it’s safe to do so,” said Norfolk Postmaster Joseph Kittelson.

Options for postal services include the Contract Postal Unit inside the HyVee at 2107 Taylor Ave. Retail hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Customers can locate alternate businesses where they can purchase stamps by logging onto usps.com and searching “Find a Location”. There’s also Stamps By Mail (ask your carrier for a form), Stamps By Phone 1-800-STAMP-24 (1-800-782-6724), and the 24/7 online Post Office at usps.com.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
