U.S. Postal Service Continues to Provide Mail Service for Customers Who Have Been Displaced From Their Homes

U.S. Postal Service customers in Oregon, whose homes have been destroyed in the wildfires or who have been required to evacuate their homes, will continue to get mail service.

“Customers who have had to leave their homes should contact their post office for information on how to get their mail,” according to USPS Portland District Manager Bill Schwartz.. “If their post office is closed there will be information posted regarding which nearby post office will have their mail for distribution.”

Election rules and regulations do not allow for the forwarding of election mail.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
