The medical assessment provides the hiring official with information necessary to make an informed hiring decision. It identifies an applicant’s physical or mental medical restrictions or limitations that could affect the applicant’s ability to perform the job offered safely and effectively. If the medical assessment process identifies restrictions or limitations or suggests a job modification, it does not necessarily indicate the presence of a disability, and it does not constitute a recommendation for or against hiring.
