Supervisors, managers, and RACs must consider the individual’s preferences and the effectiveness of each accommodation and its cost. They must select the accommodation most appropriate for both the operation and the individual. The chosen accommodation need not be the best or most expensive, or even the one preferred by the individual. As long as the accommodation is reasonable and enables the individual to perform the essential functions, it is acceptable. The employer makes the ultimate decision as to what accommodations, if any, it will adopt.

Supervisors, managers, and RACs must do the following once the accommodation is in place:
Once the supervisor or manager approves an accommodation, he or she will be responsible for securing funding from the district, following eBuyPlus guidelines and the eBuyPlus Requisitioners User Guide: https://blue.usps.gov/supplymanagement/_pdf/ebuyplus-userguide-requisitioners.pdf.
The National Disability Programs office at Headquarters provides funding for sign-language interpreting services, including Video Remote Interpreting (VRI).
The supervisor or manager may contact the RAC chairperson, district disability coordinator (DDC) or disability compliance specialist (DCS) for assistance, as needed.
