8-3.4 Past Due Process

Postage assessments are overdue when the eDoc submitter fails to act within the timeframes stated in 8-3.4.1 and 8-3.4.2.

8-3.4.1 Ten Business Days After Initial Assessment Date

Assessments that are neither paid nor submitted for review within 10 business days are set to overdue. A reminder email is sent to the eDoc submitter with payment due immediately.

8-3.4.2 Three Business Days Following Completion of Review

Assessments that are not paid in full within 3 business days following the Postal Service decision on a review request are set to overdue. eDoc Submitters are notified by email that a review is complete. When overdue, a reminder email is sent to the eDoc submitter with payment due immediately.

8-3.4.3 Overdue Escalation

Any unpaid assessments on the final day of the third calendar month after the assessment month (e.g., April 30 for January assessments) are escalated to USPS Revenue and Field Accounting for collection unless appealed to the PCSC. eDoc submitters can no longer pay assessments escalated to USPS Revenue and Field Accounting via the BCG.
